This year we are riding in memory of Tyler Gordon and all those we have loved and lost.
A note from Connie, Tyler's mom:
This ride is dedicated to the memory and in honor of Tyler Keith Gordon, who passed away in a climbing accident ten years ago, 5/27/2015. He was 21.
A true 'Durango Kid,' Tyler grew up embracing the outdoors, excelling in team sports and academically—all with a humble, modest, and generous spirit. He had a gift for teaching, effortlessly encouraging others and turning small victories into moments of celebration. He never missed an opportunity to remind us to cherish and celebrate life.
Anniversaries can be heavy with emotion. As his brother Bryce wisely shares, "Just because someone is not around does not mean that you can't learn from them". I wish Tyler were still here to guide us himself, but there is comfort in knowing that his influence lives on as we honor his life.
Beyond remembering Tyler, this ride is an invitation—to reflect, share stories, grieve, and find inspiration in those we have lost, whether it has been ten days or ten years. And most importantly, it is a reminder to keep celebrating them.
